1. Word power: Containers. Exercise 7, page 80

Exercise: draw your medicine cabinet in your notebook
2. Conversation: Listen to the conversation and answer the questions. Read it, at least!
a. Where are the speakers?
b. What does the woman buy?
c. What three problems does the woman talk about?
d. What things she buy?
e. What does the pharmacist suggest?

3. Grammar: Modal verbs. Exercise 9, page 81. Listen the cd.
People usually make requests using modal verbs such as: can, could, and may.
According to the conversation in exercise 8: How did Mrs. Webb ask for things??
Could I have…..?
Can you suggest….?
May I have…?

Rule: Modal + subject + verb + C + ?
Examples: Asking for requests.
Can I have a bag of breath mints?
Could I have something for a sore throat?
May I have a box of bandages? (MAY= is more formal)

Examples: Giving suggestions
What do you suggest for a dry skin?
Try this lotion
I suggest some ointment
You should get some skin cream

Complete the conversation, exercise 9, page 81.
Exercise: Write 4 short conversations asking and giving advices in your notebook.
