Mud Festival
The National Mud Festival is held every year at the National Wetlands Centre in Llanelli, Wales. The dates change every year since it is planned when there is a low tide during the afternoon on the nearby Loughar Estuary. If you decide to visit the festival, be prepared to get muddy. There are many muddy activities planned. You can take part in the Mud Safari, a trip down to the estuary to observe the wildlife of the area. You can also join the Wellie Wanging Competition. Here you try to throw a boot as far as you can. There is also a tug-of-war where two teams pull a rope in different directions to see who is the strongest. The loser gets a mud bath.
